Bulgaria’s government expects Russia’s state nuclear company to withdraw its EUR 58 M claim at an arbitration court over delayed payments for its work on two nuclear reactors, the energy minister has said.

“I think they realized that it makes no sense to fill the pockets lawyers for getting legal services and that the best thing they can do for the project is to withdraw their claim,” Economy and Energy Minister Traicho Traikov said in an interview for the Bulgarian National Radio on Sunday.

According to the minister the withdrawal is likely to become a fact in a few days.
